Guide: How to Send a Blank Message

Published · Updated · By InvisibleChar

A blank message is just normal text made of invisible Unicode characters. Apps count it as content, so the send button works, but nobody sees letters on the screen. This guide walks through the reliable way to copy blank invisible text and paste it into chats, bios, and game names without guessing which symbol to use.

Use the tool below first — Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) is selected because it survives the most messengers. Then follow the steps for your platform.

Step-by-step: copy and paste blank text

Choose a method tab. Keep Braille Pattern Blank unless you already know your app prefers Hangul Filler. Set length to 1 for a single blank bubble, or 10–50 if you want a taller empty message. Tap Copy Invisible Text and wait for the Copied confirmation.

Open the destination app, long-press the text field, and paste. Send or save. If nothing seems to paste, return here and use the test box — a rising character count means the clipboard is fine and the other app may be filtering that method.

Blank messages on WhatsApp and Discord

On WhatsApp, paste into a chat and send. One Braille Blank character is enough for an empty bubble. WhatsApp Web works the same way. Detailed tips live on our invisible text for WhatsApp page, including what to try when a message will not send.

Discord accepts blank display names and blank channel messages more often with Braille Blank than with zero-width space alone. See invisible text for Discord for profile and nickname steps, and keep server rules in mind — some communities rename blank nicknames.

Bios, usernames, and games

Instagram and TikTok trim ordinary spaces and many zero-width characters from profile fields. For a blank Instagram bio, copy Braille Blank or Hangul Filler, paste into Edit profile, and save — full notes are on the Instagram invisible character page. TikTok handles are stricter; nicknames and bios are the practical place for invisible spacing, covered in our TikTok guide.

Mobile games such as PUBG and Free Fire often like Hangul Filler for rename fields. Fortnite and other PC titles vary by season. Start short, confirm in the lobby list, and switch methods if the name resets. The invisible names for gaming page groups those cases.

Troubleshooting when paste “does nothing”

Invisible text is easy to mistrust because you cannot see it. Always watch the character counter after copy and after pasting into the test box. If the count is correct here but the other app refuses to send, change methods rather than mashing paste. Avoid routing the clipboard through note apps that normalize Unicode into regular spaces.

Blank message FAQ

You only need this page and an app that accepts Unicode text. Copy an invisible character, paste it into the message field, and send. No special keyboard or paid app is required on iPhone or Android.
